Academic Enrichment
After School Enrichment
After-school enrichment provides fun, hands-on classes beyond the school day, led by expert vendors and supported by our PTA. From chess to art and yoga, there’s something for every interest!
Math Challenge
The Math Challenge is a fun, at-home program where students build problem-solving skills through weekly math challenges. Parent volunteers support the program by creating challenges, scoring, and managing results.
Salmon in the Classroom
In this hands-on science program, 4th graders raise salmon fry, learning about their life cycle and conservation. In spring, they release the salmon into a local stream, helping our ecosystem and seeing the impact of their care.
Fine Arts
Reflections Art Program
Reflections is a national art program inviting all Rockwell students to share their creativity in categories like dance, music, literature, film, photography, and visual arts. Selected works move on to district, state, and national showcases.
Art Docent Program
Parent volunteers lead monthly, in-class art lessons using district-provided plans and PTA-supplied materials. Students explore different artistic styles and techniques, with their work showcased at our annual Art Showcase in May.

Literacy
Scholastic Book Fair
A favorite Rockwell tradition, the Book Fair brings our community together to explore a wide selection of books for all ages. It’s a fun way for students and families to discover new stories, build home libraries, and support our school.
Literacy Night
An evening of stories, community, and books at a beloved local bookstore. Enjoy teacher-led storytime, shop for your next great read, and help our school—Brick & Mortar donates 25% of event sales to purchase new books for Rockwell students.
Spelling Bee
Cheer on our super spellers as they showcase their vocabulary skills, build confidence, and celebrate the love of words in a fun, friendly competition. The winner will advance to the regional—and possibly national—Spelling Bee!
Community Events
New Family Playdate
Whether you’re starting kindergarten or new to the neighborhood, we’d love to meet you! The PTA hosts a New Family Playdate where kids can play while parents connect, meet PTA members, and get tips from seasoned Rockwell families. It’s a fun, relaxed way to start building friendships and feel part of the Rockwell community!
Back to School Coffee
Join the PTA at the flagpole after the first full day of school for coffee, donuts, and conversation! Connect with other parents, chat with our principal, and learn more about the PTA in a relaxed, welcoming setting—no pressure to join, just stop by and say hello!
Volunteer Fair
Join us each fall for an evening of light bites, connection, and info on all the ways you can get involved at school. It’s the perfect chance to meet other parents, explore volunteer opportunities big and small, and dip your toes into volunteering at Rockwell. Childcare provided!
Back to School Picnic
A Rockwell tradition where families, alumni, and neighbors gather to celebrate the new school year! Bring your own dinner or grab a bite from food trucks, then enjoy cotton candy, popcorn, games, and entertainment provided by the PTA. A fun, welcoming community event for all!
Movie Night
Bring your chairs, pillows, and blankets and get cozy for a fun evening together! Enjoy free entry and free popcorn, with extra concessions available for a small fee. A perfect way to spend the night with family and friends!
Holiday Gift Card Drive
Each year, the PTA collects donations to provide gift cards for Rockwell families in need. This helps ensure every family can enjoy food and gifts during the holiday season—a simple, meaningful way to give back to our community.
Heritage Night
Heritage Night celebrates the rich cultural diversity of our Rockwell community, with over 30 languages represented. Families share traditions through interactive booths, tasty treats, games, and performances—plus, a fresh new experience is coming this year!
STEAM Night
A fun evening of hands-on activities and interactive booths celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Families explore together while kids enjoy games, experiments, and a chance to win STEAM-themed prizes.
Ice Cream Social/Art Walk
Join us for our culminating event of the year! Enjoy free ice cream sundaes while strolling the halls to admire student artwork from throughout the year. It’s a sweet celebration of creativity and community—fun for the whole family!
