Interested in being a chaperone for an enrichment class?
We need one chaperone for each enrichment class. Chaperones receive a waived registration fee for one child, and some vendors offer an additional discount code for chaperones.

Please email enrichment@normanrockwellpta.org before registering so we can provide any applicable discount code and coordinate chaperone placement.

Need help covering the cost of enrichment?
Scholarships are available for families who qualify. Please contact school counselor Katie Keller at kkeller@lwsd.org to apply.

Please note that there are NO enrichment classes held on non-school days or half-days.

Rise & Shine Yoga

Class Description

Morning yoga is just the jump start you need as we head into fall! Come start your school day energized and focused with Ms Gayathri. In class we’ll get our bodies moving, practice breathing exercises to help our busy brains, do engaging activities and take time to rest before heading out to class. All this while having fun and making new friends!

Piano Keyboard Club

Grades: 1-5

Class Description

Kids will have the opportunity to learn to play their favorite songs and music on electric keyboards. Radio hits, movie and television themes are made so easy, that our participants will be playing them after the very first class! The club is a combination of keyboard piano lessons and a music learning workshop, which uses a clever visual method to teach the basics of music reading and piano playing. We’ve developed lots of learning games and activities designed to teach kids basic music reading skills and playing techniques, in ways that are fun, engaging, and stimulating. We want our students to stay motivated and continue to want to learn to play music, whether they like Bruno Mars or Beethoven. We have all the music they want. We have music from Stars Wars, Jurassic World, Moana, Wicked, KPOP Demon Hunters and lots more. Each participant has his/her own keyboard supplied during the class, along with headphones, and books and other materials are included.

Mad Science Crazy Chemworks

Class Description

Welcome to Crazy Chemworks — where science gets seriously wild! Students step into the role of real young scientists as they explore the exciting world of chemistry through hands-on experimentation. At Crazy Chemworks, students learn how to safely handle age-appropriate chemicals, use real laboratory tools, and work at their own mini lab station. Along the way, they build a foundation in chemistry terminology, observation, measurement, and scientific note-taking while conducting engaging experiments and discovering the “why” behind the reactions they see. But the learning doesn’t stop when the experiment ends. Students leave Crazy Chemworks with new skills, scientific vocabulary, notes, and tools they can use to continue exploring chemistry beyond the lab. It’s an experience designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire the next generation of scientists. Suit up, grab your goggles and gloves (we provide), and get ready to make chemistry come alive!

Cartooniversity

Class Description

A unique opportunity for kids of all skill levels to learn the basics of cartoon drawing from local professional cartoonist Jeff Johnson through a series of fun, engaging, challenging projects. Areas of study include: faces/facial features, expressions, hairstyles, bodies in action positions, character development, backgrounds, perspective, lettering and much, much more. Each student is encouraged to develop their own cartooning style. Emphasis is on having fun in a safe, positive and creative classroom environment. All supplies included.

Code Your Own Top-Down Game

Class Description

In this Open World afterschool program, students will develop a foundation for future programming and software development projects. They’ll develop this foundation in the context of working on their own games built with visual scripting that they can be proud of and share with friends and family. Over the course of the program, students will learn about data types, control statements, and logic, and use these skills to develop their own 2D top-down games while learning about techniques used in the software and game development industries. These techniques include following a development process, iterating effectively, and integrating design, art, audio, and programming into a single, cohesive experience.

Basketball with Legit Athletics

Get moving, build skills, and have fun with **Legit Athletics Basketball!** This energetic class is designed to help elementary athletes develop fundamental basketball skills while building confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game. Players will work on dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork, defense, ball handling, and game awareness through age-appropriate drills, challenges, and fun games. Every session combines skill development with plenty of opportunities to play and compete in a positive, encouraging environment. Perfect for: Beginners and experienced players alike. From Sea to Shining Sea with SmartArt

Class Description

Voyage with Smart with Art as we dive into sea inspired creations using a variety of artistic mediums. Students will explore seascapes, ocean life, and coastal landscapes while learning about artists such as Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and O’Keeffe. We’ll ride the creative waves together as students build new artistic skills and set sail on an imaginative ocean adventure. As always, please encourage students to dress for mess!

Norman Rockwell Chess Club

Class Description

Who should attend Chess Club and why? Beginners through advanced players are welcome at Chess Club! Make new friends while learning chess skills and practicing together each week. Chess has been proven to improve focus and critical thinking! In our classroom, chess is also a fun game where we build confidence, socialize, and practice sportsmanship. What will students learn in Chess Club? We will adjust each Chess Club to the students who attend to make sure all players learn! Beginners will learn chess fundamentals from castling to checkmate. We will learn tactics and checkmate patterns to build confidence while finishing a game. We may even learn advanced tournament skills while learning from famous chess games!

Yoga & Mindfulness gives students a fun and welcoming way to explore movement while developing strength, flexibility, balance, and body awareness. Indoor Soccer

Class Description

Blaze in 3D Printing: Ignite Your 3D Design Journey with Tinkercad!

In this project-based course, students use Tinkercad to turn their ideas into 3D models and tangible creations. They’ll build digital literacy, spatial reasoning, and confidence with design software while exploring how technology and creativity shape the world around us. Students will also take home their 3D-printed creations.

Course Format
This 9-week course meets for 1.5 hours each session and progressively builds students’ 3D modeling and printing skills. Students will apply what they learn to create a final project using our high-quality, in-house 3D printers. The course provides a strong foundation while inspiring students to explore more advanced 3D modeling camps and classes.

Rainy Day Dinner Club

Grades: 2-5
When: Wed 2:30-4:00pm (90 min)

Class Description

Parents, pass on dinner duty once a week! Each week, students learn basic cooking skills while making dinner for their family! Students will create delicious dishes while focusing on the importance of seasonal ingredients, scratch cooking, and natural preservatives while practicing knife skills and kitchen safety.  Each entrée will serve 4 to 6 and will be packaged in oven-ready cookware with baking instructions. Please note that we offer vegetarian options upon request during registration. All our meals are nut free but for all other allergies or dietary restrictions please contact us directly via email before registering. Our Mission is to cultivate enthusiasm for cooking and build a positive culture around family meals! We use the perspective of food, cooking, and nutrition to learn about geography, math, science, and culture, while helping kids develop a life-long love of fresh ingredients and vegetables. All meals must be refrigerated or cooked within 30-minutes of the class ending. (students attending an after-care program or leaving the food at room temperature past the 30-mins run the risk of getting a foodborne illness.)

Karate-X

Class Description

Join Karate-X for a fun, challenging introduction to martial arts! Students will build karate skills through punching, kicking, blocking drills, target practice, breaking boards, and more—all while developing confidence, focus, and discipline. Professional instructors specialize in working with preschool and elementary students, and belt testing at the end of each session gives students a goal to work toward and celebrate. Class fee includes belt test fee + uniform/registration fee for new students.

Beginner Orchestra

Grades: 3-5 (2nd w/ approval)

Class Description

Learn to play violin, viola or cello in a fun group setting with expert teachers! Beginner Orchestra is open to students entering grades 3-5 (2nd grade students who have prior instrument lesson experience may email fifthsymphonymusic@gmail.com to request approval to join.) This class is designed for students with less than two years expereince on their instrument. New students will learn the fundamentals of proper positioning, parts of the instrument, how to play notes and songs within the D major scale, and begin to learn to read music. Continuing learners will review and build upon their skills and learn new songs. Students will perform together in a concert at the end of the program. Let’s make music together!

Blaze Robotics: Ignite your Robotics Journey with VEX!

Class Description

Young engineers bring ideas to life as they build and code with the VEX robotics platform. Through fun, hands-on activities, students learn how robots move, sense, and respond. Each session encourages curiosity and teamwork as students explore the fundamentals of engineering and coding.

Objective: The primary objective of the course is to spark curiosity and inspire a lifelong interest in robotics and technology among young students. Through hands-on activities, collaborative projects, and age-appropriate challenges, students will gain a foundational understanding of robotics, learning to build and program simple robots using the VEX kits. The course is designed to make learning fun and accessible, setting the stage for future exploration in STEM fields.

Backstage Builders

Class Description

Want to be part of the school musical without being on stage? Join the Backstage Builders!

Students will get hands-on experience designing, building, and testing real props and set pieces that will be used in this spring’s school musical. They’ll learn stagecraft skills, creative problem-solving, teamwork, and what it takes to bring a production to life behind the scenes.

It’s a great opportunity for students who love theatre but would rather have a starring role behind the scenes. It can also help students build skills and explore an interest in technical theatre before moving on to middle and high school, where opportunities to join student stage and technical crews are available.

Their hard work won’t go unnoticed! Backstage Builders will be recognized as part of the official production crew in the musical playbill and will receive free tickets to see their creations come to life on stage.

Dance Fun! Get ready to move, groove, and build confidence in this uplifting dance class! Throughout the class, dancers will participate in engaging dance games that encourage teamwork, build friendships, and create a positive class community while having lots of fun. This session will also feature a special Halloween-themed class, where students are invited to wear their costumes and dance along to festive and spooky songs. Whether your child is an experienced dancer or simply loves to move and have fun, this class offers a welcoming and supportive environment for all skill levels. All ages are invited! Game Design & Coding: Retro Remix

Class Description

Lando’s Coding and Game Design introduces students to coding concepts like loops, logic, debugging, playtesting, and peer feedback through building retro-style games like Frogger, Arcade Hoops, and Treasure Dig. The games change each week, and students can choose the level that feels right for them and work through challenges with support from their instructor. At the end of each class, parents receive a challenge report with a quick overview of what their student worked on that day, along with a link so they can keep playing their game at home!

Soccer with B&B Solutions

What is Before & After School Enrichment?

Our PTA partners with local providers to bring fun and engaging classes right to our school campus! Classes take place:

Before school: 8:10–9:10 am
After school: 4:10-5:10pm

It’s a convenient way for your child to try new activities without leaving school. Registration and tuition are managed directly through each vendor.

Note: PTA organizes these opportunities, but each vendor manages their own programs. Please review vendor policies carefully.

Registration Information

General registration opens Friday, September 18 at 9:00am

Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive a welcome email before your class begins with all the important details.
Fall Enrichment Classes begin October 5. Sign up early —low enrollment will lead to class cancellations.

Student Drop-off and Pick-up

Morning classes: Parents drop off and sign in with the parent chaperone. Students are dismissed at 9:10 AM to the commons for Paws & Pause
Afternoon classes:
- Older students meet chaperones in the front of the school.
- Younger students are escorted by teachers to the front of the school. (Please remind your child’s teacher if they are attending an after-school class.)

Parents, please meet your child at the front of the school and sign out with the chaperone. Be sure to pick up promptly—our volunteer chaperones and instructors appreciate your timeliness!

Financial Support

We believe every student should have the opportunity to participate. If you need financial assistance, please contact our school counselor, Ms. Keller at kkeller@lwsd.org. Privacy will be maintained by working directly with the school counselor.

Reach out to her early, as scholarship funds are limited.
