Cydney Knapp

Cydney is honored to be serving as Vice President of the Rockwell Elementary PTA and is currently stepping into the role of Acting President while the PTA works to find its next President. With three kids connected to Rockwell, she has been an active and enthusiastic part of the school community for many years.

Over the years, in addition to serving as president last year, Cydney has served as an Art Docent and Room Parent, held PTA board positions as Disability Advocate and VP of Communications, and has especially enjoyed chairing her favorite event—Teacher Appreciation Week—for several years. She loves finding ways to bring families together, support teachers and staff, and make sure every Rockwell student feels included and supported.

When she finds spare time, Cydney can be found reading, sewing, at the pottery studio, or exploring the outdoors with her husband and kids. She is passionate about Rockwell and its wonderful community and looks forward to continuing to connect with families, support our teachers and staff, and make this a great year for all of our students.

Viktoria Zuban

I’ve been volunteering at Rockwell since 2019, taking on various roles. My older son, now in the 8th grade at RMS, is a Rockwell alumnus, while my younger son is in 1st grade.
Growing up in Ukraine, I moved to the US twelve years ago. Our family lived in Tennessee and Massachusetts, but we finally found our true home here in the Pacific Northwest.
I hold an MBA degree, but I worked as a web and graphic designer for a few years before rediscovering my passion for art. In my free time, I paint in watercolors or acrylics, or I volunteer at a local horse riding therapy center. Currently, my main occupation is being a stay-at-home mom.

Tanya Kokhanovska

Tanya has a son in 5th grade and a daughter in 2nd grade.  She is new to PTA Board but has been enjoying volunteering for the school. Tanya is a UX Designer who is learning how to support PTA website as a webmaster this year.

Susan Walker

Susan has been in Rockwell community since 2021 and this is her 6th year as the PTA Emergency Preparedness Chair. She has two boys: one is a 3rd grader at Rockwell, and the other is a 6th grader at RMS. She is passionate about educating students and families on how to be more prepared for emergencies in our area and assists Rockwell staff with the school’s emergency supplies.

Susan brings a variety of experience from previously holding administrative and teaching positions in elementary and middle schools in CA, AZ and even Japan!  She has a BFA in Art History from the University of Kansas and also teaches in the art docent program. She also loves event planning and Heritage Night is one of her favorites!

Susan is also a substitute Para/Instructional Assistant at LWSD (Rockwell is her favorite place to work at!).

In her spare time, she enjoys catching up on podcasts, taking family bike rides along the Sammamish River Trail, and enjoying all that the PNW has to offer.

Hanaa Rifaey

Hanaa is in her third year serving as the VP of Fundraising, and she is incredibly grateful for how generous the Rockwell community continues to be! Reach out to Hanaa at fundraising@normanrockwellpta.org to learn how you can support Rockwell’s programs and infrastructure (including the new playground!).

Hanaa has three kids: two at Rockwell in third and fifth grades and a ninth grader at Tesla STEM. She works in the journalism and technology space, loves a craft, and has recently started fostering dogs through Seattle Humane.

Klint Van Cleemput

Hi Rockwell families! I’m Klint Van Cleemput, and while you might know me as your physical education teacher, this is my very first year serving on the PTA. I am stepping into the Enrichment role and am incredibly excited to bring in numerous learning opportunities for all students before, during, and after school based on their interests. Outside of teaching PE and building PTA enrichment programs, I enjoy spending time with my family and diving into a wide mix of hobbies. Whether it’s playing sports, chess, and video games, or exploring robotics, coding, cooking, collecting cards, and traveling around the world, I love staying active and curious. I can’t wait for a great year ahead!

Kainoa Patterson

Kainoa is the VP of Volunteer Services. This is her third year in the role at Rockwell, and she has previously held board roles in volunteering, membership, and events, as well as room parent duties. She has a son entering high school at RHS and a son in the 3rd grade. Kainoa is looking forward to another year of supporting volunteers and relationship-building with families in the Rockwell community!

Outside of school Kainoa works in the non-profit, social services sector. She has an unhealthy obsession with books (reading them, buying them, borrowing them), acts as her kids Uber driver for their sporting events and hang outs, and has a love hate relationship with the family cat.

Angela Trommer

Angela is new this year to the Rockwell PTA Board, but is looking forward to her role as VP of Communications. Her daughter is in 5th grade and her son is starting kindergarten at Rockwell.

Angela’s background is in public health and oncology research. She enjoys traveling to new places, reading mystery novels, and going to the theatre.

This is Lani’s eighth year of active involvement in the PTA, where she continues to be passionate about contributing to the community that enriches our school. Lani has served as VP of Communication, VP of School Services, Co-President, the Yearbook Chair, and Producer/Director for the school musical for the past 4 years.

Outside of her PTA duties, Lani works as a Director of Product Development at Sony Santa Monica Studio, where she is currently working on the God of War franchise.

Hanne Damen

Hanne is excited to be joining the Rockwell PTA and looks forward to being more involved in the school community. Originally from Belgium, she has a daughter, who is in first grade at Rockwell Elementary.

Hanne holds a Master’s degree in Educational Sciences and has a background in education, most recently working as an Internal Quality Coordinator at a secondary school in Belgium, where she focused on school-wide policy and quality improvement.

Outside of school, Hanne enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the Pacific Northwest. She is looking forward to getting to know more Rockwell families and helping make the school community a welcoming place for everyone!

Natalia Dyba

This is Natalia’s third year on the PTA Board. She will be working on the School of Excellence application process. Natalia has a daughter in 3rd grade, so she’s still learning a lot about the ins and outs of school and joining the PTA is a great way to do that! She hopes to contribute to making Rockwell an enriching and inclusive school for all families.

Natalia grew up in Poland and has also lived in Spain and Argentina. Her professional experience is in international education. She works at the University of Washington Bothell, promoting global engagement opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. She enjoys traveling – in person and through reading – skiing, hiking, and baking.
