2025-2026 Golden Acorn Award Recipients

The Golden Acorn Award honors individuals whose volunteer work benefits the entire school community, not just their own child. Recipients demonstrate exceptional dedication and service that positively impacts the school as a whole, supporting students, teachers, and families. Awardees receive a certificate, a Golden Acorn pin, and a donation in their name to the Washington State PTA Scholarship Program. To nominate someone, contact awards@normanrockwellpta.org.

2025-2026 Outstanding Educator Award Recipients

The Outstanding Educator Award recognizes individuals who make a meaningful impact on students’ educational experiences. Eligible recipients include teachers, assistants, specialists, support staff, administrators, or community members. Awardees receive a certificate, a pin, and a donation in their name to the Washington State PTA Scholarship Program. This award honors dedication to creating a supportive and enriching learning environment for all students.

Shelby Willie

Mrs. Willie inspires curiosity, challenges students to reach their potential, and creates a supportive classroom where every child can succeed. Families praise her patience, kindness, and dedication to helping students truly understand what they’re learning. Whether preparing students for important milestones or providing individual support, she encourages confidence, growth, and a love of learning. We are proud to recognize Mrs. Willie as this year’s Outstanding Educator Award recipient.

Jayden Johansen

Miss Jay creates a joyful, welcoming environment where students feel valued, supported, and excited to learn. Known for her kindness, encouragement, and lasting impact, she inspires a love of reading, builds confidence, and helps students develop a positive connection to school. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom through programs, activities, and events that strengthen our school community. We are proud to recognize Miss Jay as this year’s Outstanding Educator Award recipient.

Each year, the Heart of Rockwell Award honors those who quietly, consistently, and wholeheartedly go above and beyond. This is someone who pours love, care, and dedication into our school community in ways both big and small—lifting spirits, supporting students, and strengthening our Rockwell family. To be the Heart of Rockwell means embodying the values and traits we aspire to: compassion, commitment, and a genuine passion for making our school a better place for everyone.

Mrs. Hatch is the person who keeps Rockwell running smoothly behind the scenes, ensuring students, staff, and families have the support they need every day. Known for her kindness, dedication, and ability to stay one step ahead, she played a vital role in coordinating the school’s move during the Rockwell rebuild while continuing to manage countless daily responsibilities. Her steady presence, patience, and commitment make a lasting impact on our entire community. We are proud to recognize Mrs. Hatch as this year’s Heart of Rockwell Award recipient.
