A fun-filled morning of outdoor games and activity stations for the whole school. Lots of volunteers needed to man the stations at this fun event for the kids!

The heritage night festival is a fun evening for families to learn more about different countries in the world. Parents/families volunteer to sponsor a booth showcasing a country.

3- events in one! Student artwork is displayed all throughout the school by the classroom art docents. Families may walk around and enjoy the art and also stop by the gym for ice cream (served by their teachers). Meanwhile the library will be selling used books (donated by Rockwell families). Art Docent Chair and docents coordinate the art show, and the librarian coordinates the book sale.

PTA provides coffee and treats for parents after drop-off on the First Day of school.

A school-hours program designed to supplement art instruction on a monthly basis developed by the Seattle Art Museum.

Parent Art Docents provide monthly, in-class art instruction to students and display the students' artwork at the annual Art Showcase in May. Curriculum and all supplies are provided, as well as an orientation/training in September.

Each classroom needs at least one parent Art Docent but most classes have more. Art Docents sign up for this position with the classroom teacher at Curriculum Night.

The PTA provides information, suggested curriculum by grade, training, and guidance. Art Docents work directly with the Classroom Teacher to schedule and plan the art lessons for the year. Art Docents must complete the LWSD Volunteer application and approval process prior to being in the classroom.

An at-home program designed to improve student math skills through league play and challenge events. Weekly Math Challenges are announced through the Bugle newsletter.

Parent volunteers are needed to provide math challenges, score tests and manage on-line data.

A district, state and national level judged art show for all students and grades. Students have the opportunity to create original works in several categories including dance/choreography, music composition, literature, film production, photography and visual art. Students may submit in more than one category. Selected pieces will be displayed at Rockwell, in the LWSD area and in Washington state.

4th Grade Salmon Education Program where the students participate in the raising of several hundred salmon fry who are released into a local stream in the spring.

Bundle-up, we’re creating a spectacular Winter Wonderland! Build bobsleds, design snowmobiles, and take a ride on the Polar Express. Explore your snowiest ideas and learn STEM concepts with tens of thousands of LEGO® pieces at your mitten-tips and the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor.

The PTA in partnership with Youth Theatre Northwest presents a spring play. Rockwell’s 4th and 5th graders will perform live, on-stage at the Redmond Performing Arts Center. Registration is limited to 30 cast members, first come, first serve.

Helping new families transition to our school throughout the year

Various programs to raise funds for school and student events and activities sponsored by the PTA

This committee handles the PTA membership drive at the beginning of the year and year-round. We always strive for 100% membership! By joining the PTA, you help support all of the programs we offer!

The nominating committee is made up of at least three PTA members and is elected by the general membership in January. Their job is to solicit officers for the next school year and to present a slate to be elected in the spring.

School-wide read-a-thon fundraiser

Various restaurants in the area participate in dine-out nights - proceeds from your meal go to the school when you dine out on particular days at various restaurants throughout the school year.

We sell high quality t-shirts and sweatshirts with our school colors and logo. Parents can purchase these items a couple times per year and kids can wear them on spirit days or any day.

PTA sponsors the Rockwell PTA website, providing information to parents, access to sign up pta, volunteer opportunities, purchasing yearbooks and spirit wear, and the first day packets will all be online.

The PTA produces a yearbook for each school year. We're always looking for photos of students participating in various activities, please send photos to the Yearbook Chairs directly or upload to Lifetouch - link to be announced in Bugle Newsletter. You may also send pics to office on a flash drive - attention Yearbook Chair.

Maintain and improve the emergency supplies at the school for use in case of natural disaster and other unusual occurrences.

Volunteers patrol school grounds before school starts and greet families, be available for conflict resolution and enforcing school rules (no running on the blacktop, can not play on equipment, stand in line respectfully).

The PTA supports the school by coordinating volunteers to assist with picture retakes.

The PTA supports the annual vision and hearing screening at the school by providing volunteers who assist the school nurse with testing logistics such as getting to and from the testing location.

Room Parent Chairs communicates with room parents and provides a fall training. Room Parents help plan classroom parties for individual classrooms with other parent volunteers from your student's class. Also includes communicating with parents regarding any celebration for teacher birthdays and Teacher Appreciation Week. Room Parents will sign up to be a room parent in the classroom during Curriculum Night.

The Running Club takes place during the lunch recess. It is run by Ms. Cottom (PE teacher) with the assistance of parent volunteers.

The teacher appreciation committee assists with teacher appreciation & hospitality events throughout the year.
