Stacy Hatch

Stacy Hatch is serving her second term as PTA President after spending two years as the Funds Allocation Director. In her years at Rockwell, Stacy has chaired Bingo, raised FUNds (putting the FUN in fundraising) as Pass the Hat and Box Top Coordinator, plus brought Movie Night and Dine Out back after a long hiatus. She has also added our school colors to everyone’s wardrobe via Spirit Wear and let’s not leave out room parent and helping others with their events.

When Stacy's not volunteering at school, you will find her working at the school as an IA (Instructional Assistant). Her day job allows her to greet over 100 students/parents as crossing guard, build stronger readers and mathematicians and monitor lunch and recess.

In her fifth year at Rockwell Elementary, says "Rockwell is a community. It is full of energy from both social and academic events. By making myself available at school, I have met a lot of great adults, interesting and smart kids, and have learned hands-on what my kids do in school all day!"

Director of Funds Allocation

Adelina Popescu

For the last 3 years since her daughter started 1st grade, Adelina volunteered to support school activities like: weekly reading/math, organizing class parties and other school events.
She has a background in sales management and business consultancy and plans to put that experience at work. So this year she decided to join the crew and the fun.
Adelina thinks that she is very lucky to have the chance to be part of such a great community and also to play a role in it's vivid life.

VP Volunteer Services

Beth Batig

Beth Batig is Rockwell's VP of volunteer services. She has a daughter in middle school and a son in 4th grade.  You'll find her in numerous volunteer capacities at Rockwell including serving on the board, being a Room Parent, helping with  running club and with weekly reading/math tasks in the classroom. When not volunteering, she works as a substitute preschool teacher.

Her favorite part of Rockwell is the sense of "family" between staff, students, and parents.

VP Communications

Angie Ballas

Angie helps you all get your information via the Bugle newsletter, Facebook, and the tandem calendar. She has two daughters - a current 4th grader and a 7th grader (who went all the way through Rockwell). Angie has also previously served on the board as well as in the classroom as a room parent, library helper, and art helper. In a previous life, she wrote and did some editing for the Red Tricycle website, worked as a real estate assistant, and (way back when) as a hotel wedding coordinator.  "While our school community is large, it feels smaller as you get to know more people through being involved at the school."

VP Academic Enrichment

Elizabeth Rosemond

Elizabeth is Rockwell's Vice President of Academic Enrichment. She has two children at Rockwell: a daughter in the 4th grade and a son in the 2nd grade. She runs her own small business and enjoys crafting during her "down time".

VP School Services

Kit Craig

Kit Craig is serving as Rockwell's VP of school services. She has been helping out at Rockwell since her oldest one started grade 1 at Rockwell. She has a son in middle school and another in 3rd grade. She currently works as a substitute paraeducator for the Lake Washington School District and she is studying toward earning her U.S. Special Education teaching certificate. Prior to her career change, she was working in I.T. and she is still doing some freelance work for startups in her spare time.

Legislative Advocate

Valdene Claux

I have been a part of the Rockwell community for about seven years now. My older son is now a seventh grader at Redmond Middle School, and my younger son is a third grader. I wanted to serve as the legislative advocate because I wanted to speak out on behalf of all Rockwell kids and help shape the legislative priorities that will benefit our community. In my spare time, I enjoy playing board games with my family and watching movies.

Jamie Kivela

My name is Jamie Kivela. I am married to Kris and we have 2 active boys who both attend Rockwell and one goofy chocolate lab named Prince. My M-F, 8-5 job is at an engineering firm where I work as a Lead Project Accountant  crunching numbers and reviewing contracts. My other job is being a fulltime mommy where I get paid with smiles and hugs. =) I've lived in Washington all my life with a brief time away attending Boise State on a golf scholarship. I love being around my family, going out with friends, working out, eating, crafting, and hanging out on Pinterest until the wee hours of the night. I love being a parent at Rockwell and look forward every year to being part of it's cute little school community!
