Used book sale May 24th
The 14th Annual Used Book Sale is almost here!  We have an amazing selection of books for the whole family.  Thank you so much for your generous donations!  It's not too late to donate your gently used books for the sale - we're accepting donations through Friday, May 18th . You can shop for great bargains in the Rockwell Library from 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 24th. Chairperson needed ASAP for the Back-to-School BBQ  for the 2018/2019 school year: You asked, we listened!  For our first community event for the 2018/2019 school year, we are going to host the Back-to-School BBQ (in place of Food Truck Night) on  September 14 .  We are in need of a chairperson to coordinate the event, and start with planning prior to the end of this school year.   Chairperson roles can be shared, so find a friend and raise your hand!  This is an awesome event to bring us all together at the beginning of the school year, and the kiddos ... read full article

ROCKWELL SPRING RUNNING CLUB UPDATE!!! Parent Volunteers Wanted   Spring Running Club is off to a great start, welcoming over 100 Kindergartners to the program! A lot of Kindergartners have been very excited to finally join the rest of the Rockwell students in participating at lunch recesses on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 2018 SBA ASSESSMENT SCHEDULE No extra preparation is required for the SBA, but you can help your child be their best by making sure they are at school ON TIME and with a healthy breakfast in their tummies, well-rested from a good night's sleep. Translation Services available!
Translation Services available: Rockwell is a flourishing community of diversity. In order to maintain our inclusive community and assist families not proficient in English, PTA and Rockwell have established two programs to facilitate two-way communication.  PTA provides translators through our FACE (Family and Community Engagement) committee at school events, meetings and by translating forms into several languages. You can also select your preferred language on the PTA, Rockwell and LWSD websites by using the “select language” buttons near the top/left. SCIENCE VAN VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Calling Parent Volunteers! The Science Van Returns!   The Pacific Science Center's excellent "Science on Wheels" program will be at Rockwell on June 14th and 15th. KINDERGARTEN NEWS for 2018-2019 Mark your calendars! The first day of school for incoming Kindergarteners is Friday, September 7th. Grades 1-5 return Tuesday, September 4th .   Kindergarten Registration for 2018-19 If you live in Lake Washington School District (LWSD) and your child will be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2018, it is time to register him or her for kindergarten. Used book donations - drop them off anytime in the library!
Save Those Used Books! Paw Patrol - School Safety - Needs Parent Support
What is Paw Patrol?  Paw Patrol is intended to engage families and partner with the school to welcome, support and protect all students upon arrival every morning from 8:10-8:30 am .    Adults (parents, grandparents, neighbors, community members) will be wearing safety vests and walkie-talkies and walking the perimeter of the school to: Boost social behavior by greeting kids with a welcoming "hello."
