Congratulations to our ROCKWELL PTA Award Winners.
Awards were given to staff at the all-school assembly and to volunteers at our volunteer celebration on Tuesday, June 20th.
Please read on for our Dog-Gone, Bow-Wow, Heart of Rockwell winners and special congrats to our Outstanding Educator (Nancy McKay and Kirsten Gometz) and our Golden Acorn recipient (Myriam Pollock). These two awards are Washington State PTA Awards and Donations are made in each WSPTA Award recipient’s name to the WSPTA fund, which awards scholarships to students who are freshmen entering post-secondary education.

2017 PTA Volunteer Award Recipients
Bow-Wow Award: is offered by Rockwell PTA to recognize volunteers for their outstanding service to the Rockwell students and community during the school year.
Dog-Gone Award: is offered by Rockwell PTA to recognize and honor exceptional volunteers in their last year of service at Norman Rockwell.
Golden Acorn Award: is offered by the Washington State PTA for recognition of a volunteer who has given outstanding service to all children in the school community… not just an individual who has donated time to help in his/her child’s class. It is to recognize volunteer service “above and beyond” a particular job description. *Donations are made in each WSPTA Award recipient’s name to the WSPTA fund, which awards scholarships to students who are freshmen entering post-secondary education.
2017 PTA Staff Award Recipients
Heart of Rockwell: is offered by Rockwell PTA to recognize Teachers or Staff for their outstanding service to the Rockwell students and community during the school year.
Dog-Gone Award: is offered by Rockwell PTA to recognize and honor outstanding staff members in their last year of service at Norman Rockwell.
Outstanding Educator Award: is offered by the Washington State PTA to recognize individuals who go beyond the normal expectations of their jobs to make the learning environment fun, beneficial, and challenging. Who may receive the award? – An outstanding educator could be a teacher, assistant, custodian, bus driver, administrator or community member. *Donations are made in each WSPTA Award recipient’s name to the WSPTA fund, which awards scholarships to students who are freshmen entering post-secondary education.
